Abstract

Tämän numeron ilmestyessä olen toiminut kolme vuotta Alue ja Ympäristö -lehteä kustavan Alue- ja ympäristötutkimuksen seuran (AYS ry) puheenjohtajana. Näistä kolmesta vuodesta viimeisin on kulunut raskaissa merkeissä seuramme etsiessä tuloksetta uutta puheenjohtajaa toimintakykyisen johtokunnan kasaamiseksi. Ongelma ei toki ole uusi: kestämätön tilanne on syntynyt useamman vuoden aikana, kun uusia jäseniä on ollut yhä vaikeampi houkutella mukaan seuratoimintaan.
