Vaikuttamisen rajoilla
Onko koetulla luonnolla sijaa kaupungin suunnittelussa ja päätöksenteossa?
Abstract
To be able to support the opportunities of residents
to maintain their well-being and quality of life,
information on the qualities of urban environment
as experienced by residents need to be considered
in planning and decision-making. The aim of the
article is to discuss how residents’ values and
meanings related to urban nature areas can be
as usable information as ecological and technical
information and be integrated in the information
base for planning and decision-making concerning
these areas. First, we review values and meanings of
urban nature as experienced by residents. Second,
practices in obtaining information from residents
are presented with examples from the Helsinki
Metropolitan Area. We sum up with a discussion
on the challenges the experienced nature brings to
planning and decision-making.
